BioThe Journal:
The journal's about Japan, Japanese Hip-Hop and R&B (with a little Korean mixed in), and my own random babbling about Japanese culture, studies, video games, movies, yakuza, and probably more than a couple posts about coffee (I do work at Starbucks!). Not only will you find some nice urban music to listen to, you might even learn a thing or two!
The Music:
Well, I've been studying Japanese for about 5 years now and started really listening to Japanese music about 4 years ago. I started with Utada Hikaru's R&B stuff from back in the day (my first ever Jpop song was Amai Wana) and later started listening to Hirai Ken, Kubota Toshinobu, BoA, and Zeebra. Now my favorite artists are M-Flo, BoA, Zeebra, Dabo, Kashi da Handsome, Seeda, KM-Markit, May J, Kato Miliyah, Foxxi MisQ, 51 -Goichi-, Doberman Inc, and Sphere of Influence (I'm missing a bunch I'm sure). I like K-Hip Hop/R&B as well. My favs are Epik High, Baby Vox, Drunken Tiger, 1TYM, Lexy, T, and once again, BoA. As for American music: Jay-Z, Kanye West, Timbaland, 50 Cent, Justin Timberlake, Jason Mraz, and Earth, Wind, and Fire.
The Man:
I'm planning to become a English teacher in Japan. Other than music, I like movies (especially Yakuza ones), video games, tennis, coffee (I do work at Starbucks!), and japanese dramas. I like to think of myself as a lazy perfectionist -- one who wants perfection in everything he does, but is too lazy to actually do so most of the time. Other than that, I'm just a pretty laid-back, easy to get along with guy.
